for the handicapped. Twenty-six rooms are equipped for
handicapped guests.
During the warm months the outside terrace is a perfect
spot to enjoy fine dining or a cocktail. There are three private
dining rooms and three that are open to the public. The larg-
est dining room is in what was once a barn， a fantastic， high-
ceflinged room with dark wood and a huge fireplace. A small
greenhouse is attached to it. This makes a magnificent set-
ring for the marvelous food.
An interesting breakfast selection is W\" Bircher Muesli，
a hearty alpine favorite made of oats， hazelnuts， and fresh
fruits. My favorite lunch choice is the really good black bean
soup with the proper accompaniments of chopped egg，
minced onions， and sherry. At dinnertime the rooms are
candlelit. For a starter， try the Mushroom Strudel. It is pure
ambrosia. The inn also serves Rack of Lamb for one， which is
done to perfection. The Pork with Plums also is outstanding.
Leave some space for dessert; all of them are made here and
each one is divine.
The inn has piano music seven nights a week， and on
special holidays an a cappella choir sings from the balcony in
the main dir~. g room.
There are large and small conference rooms， a billiard
room with a fireplace， and an exercise room. Have a massage
or take a sauna. It s all right here for you.
How to get there: Take Exit 6 off Route 9 and turn west on
Route 148. Go 3.2 miles to the inn. In a private plane， fly in to
the Chester Airport.

Elise and I are both cat happy. She has a Burmese
named Arthur， a name I happen to love， and a flat-
coated retriever called Raffles.
