Foreword Very few people today would question the fact that we are living in an era of unparalleled pollution involving every phase of the human environment. In addition to air and water pollu- tion, there are literally thousands of synthetic chemicals being added to commercial food products--chemicals which are almost all foreign to the biological systems of life. The foods themselves are seldom left in their life and health building states; they are adulterated, denatured, and devitalized by various forms of processing. In a manner of speaking, it would not be to too far amiss to say that we are living in an era of un- precedented blood pollution. At this time, few would venture to predict the long range effects of this pollution on human biology and genetics, but we do know that there is a very real and significant statistical increase in various metabolic and degenerative diseases. There also appears to be an increasing number of people who are not suffering from any specific disease, but whose energies and vitality are at such low levels that they are able to meet the 3
