Let me say this right up front and loud and clear£ºShelley Davis
has become my personal hero£®For any American citizen to stand up
to today¡¯S IRS takes guts£®And when that American has every reason
to fear retaliation from an organization that was£¬until recently£¬her
employer£¬I call that heroic£®
Shelley Davis says she isn¡¯t as afraid for herself as she is for the
country£¬unless the IRS iS reformed£®and reformed faSt£®But I have to
say that I¡¯m afraid for her£®Because what Shelley has done is tell the
truth about what goes on inside the IRS£®And£¬let me tell you£¬her
story only confirms our worst fears about what goes on behind the
impenetrable walls of what she calls the Temple of Doom at 1 1 1 1
Constitution Avenue£®It¡¯S a story that the IRS£¬to put it mildly£®didn¡¯t
want to see told£®Talk about incompetence T Talk about corruption!
Talk about covering your butt!
The crowning irony£¬of course£¬is that telling the truth about the
IRS and its history was what Shelley Davis was hired to do in the
first place£®She had no polemic political ax to grind£®This is a person
whose only crime was trying to do her job£¬as best she could£®Part of
that job involved telling her bosses£¬¡°Heads up£¬guys£¬but do you
know we¡¯re breaking the law P¡±
As she reveals£¬the IRS routinely destroys its own records£®That¡¯S
