One of the uilique cl~aracteristics of tl~e organization is tlle free flow of ideas and observations belween patients and staff, and the very active investment of patients in identifying ll~e cllaracteristics and confrontation of those problems we researcll. Althougll tllis inaterial was developed over several years, it was mos{ly written in an intensive write-in weekend. Participants in tllat weekend were J. Fishman, K. Mellor, A. Schiff, J. Schiff, S.
