Lacking any sort of quilting heritage, Kay started without a stitch of knowledge in a beginning quilting class, circa 1992. When Kay told her instructor that she enjoyed the Dresden Plate the most out of all the blocks in the sampler, the instructor said, "You just might be an applique person!" That turned out to be so true!
From that class on, Kay was gripped with the quilt pox, happily and at all times working on a project--or eight. Over the years she developed the yen to create her own designs to applique. When she took some digital-media classes and learned computer illustration, designing applique became a reality for her. |
