b~~I think that you ought to know why I have written this
k..For years I have been revolved with the la) ，ma， an. (I
am using the term to mean men， women， youth-the people
of. God. ) During these years two convictions have grown.
First， the hope of the ministering church is the inspired，
reformed， and committed layman..Second， most laymen do
not get the help whmh they need m order to become what
，~， they desire. This is a \"help\" book for laymen.
The title of the bo~.k comes from a conviction I have about
~ \" all of us. I have sat m a worship service and looked around
my fellow
~ at Christians. I knew where they had worked tt~aI
week. I knew some of the burdens they were carry.rag. I knew
the tempta!~ons they were constantly dealing w， th. I knew
~ the .frustrat:on and failure which plagued them. When the
_mmtster stood to speak.I hoped that he was aware of all
these needs. There are times when I have been so aware of
these needs that I have thought ，t .would be appropnate，，for
all of us to have httle red flags wlth the word HELP m
bold white letters which we would wave in the air when the
minister stood to speak. This book is for all the people who
have ever felt that way， even ff they did not have a flag to
wave.
