| Sean R. Eddy is a scientist who leads a research group at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Janelia Farm Research Campus in Virginia, with interests in bioinformatics, computational biology and biological sequence analysis. Current projects include the use of Hidden Markov models in HMMER, Infernal[10] Pfam and Rfam. In 2007, Sean was the winner of the Benjamin Franklin Award in Bioinformatics for contributions to Open Access in the Life Sciences. Professor Anders Krogh is a bioinformatician at the University of Copenhagen, where he leads the university's bioinformatics center. He is well known for his pioneering work on the use of hidden Markov models in bioinformatics (together with David Haussler), and is co-author of a widely used textbook in bioinformatics. In addition, he also co-authored one of the early textbooks on neural networks. His current research interests include promotor analysis, non-coding RNA, gene prediction and protein structure prediction. |
