  The author, Huang Xiaokuan, was born in Shangcheng County ofHenan Province, China in 1952. He is now an attending physician at theQigong Clinic of the General Hospital of the Chinese People's LiberationArmy in Beijing, and also holds concurrent posts as professor at theCollege for Advanced Study of Chinese Qigong, council member of theChinese Medical Qigong Society and visiting specialist at the WorldMedical Qigong Society. Dr. Huang has visited the USA, France, Japanand the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for academic exchangeand medical service. He was appointed professor of Chinese Qigong bythe American International Acupuncture College and senior technologyadvisor by the Japan-China Qigong Society in Japan. The author haspublished the following books: Chinese Qigong Acupressure Therapy,Qigong for Maintenance of Health and Treatment of Diseases andMedical and Health-Maintaining Qigong, as well as more than tenscientific papers and popular medical articles in journals and newspapersin China  and abroad.

The therapeutic techniques of qigong acupressure therapy are simpleand easy to learn and practise and do not rely on drugs or medical equipment anddoes not produce side effects.
