《盖西文:名曲钢琴版/独奏钢琴作品/肯恩:名曲集》盖西文自己是非常出色 的钢琴即兴好手，而他为百老汇、电影所写的作品又非常脍炙人口，因此他经常在好莱坞或纽约的社交派对上被人要求即兴这些歌曲，他也为自动钢琴录了少数这类 的钢琴即兴，可惜的是，他一共只将这样的改编歌曲留下十八首乐谱，不过光是这些就够我们猜想他其他名曲改编成钢琴的样子会是什么了。

片中的三首前奏曲曾被小提琴名家海飞兹改编成小提琴曲，这三首钢琴前奏曲盖西文曾经亲自灌录过唱片，但他原本是打算跟肖邦一样，写成二十四首的，可惜最后只写 了三首。他采用美国爵士音乐的风格写成这些古典音乐型式的前奏曲，技巧艰难但充满了现代趣味。本片是英国知名作曲家班奈特在七零年代后期录下的，能邀请到 这位知名的作曲家前来录音着实相当不易，因为这位曾经凭为「东方快车谋杀案」配乐赢得奥斯卡最佳配乐提名的作曲家，在当时正处事业巅峰，非常忙碌，当时他 正在创作「你是我今生的新娘」（休葛兰主演）等片的配乐。
