《勃拉姆斯长笛奏鸣曲》The two Brahms sonatas were written late in his life when the composer had resolved to retire. They were inspired by the clarinetist Richard M lfeld. By this stage of his career, Brahms had made an essential part of his idiom the technique of allowing themes to develop by a form of variation, and this can be heard at work from the outset in both sonatas. Carl Reinecke's sonata, written around 1885, is unique in absorbing the elements of the tale into a piece of abstract music. 01 Sonata No. 2 in E flat Op. 120 No. 2 (written for Clarinet and Piano): I.
