Hip Dining China

Generally, a dining space reflects the cultural styles and tastes of the region. However, cross-cultural influences, especially that of the west and the other parts of Asia as a result of trade and commerce, have infiltrated the design scene of China. The 16 restaurants featured in Hip Dining China, all of which bear witness to changing trends and new stylistic influences, resulting in interesting blends between the east and that of the west. Although varied in the design expressions, the projects illustrate a common trends: that the long history Chinese design and architecture is evolving. Contemporaneity and modernity have paved the way for interpretations and the new ways of looking at design in China. The new exciting restaurants showcased in this book not only mirror the current design trends, but also reflects hip dining experiences that have been integral parts of the lifestyle of the new Chinese society.
