About the Authors

Phil Abrams is the father of a child with autism. He is also an actor and a behaviorist who works with children who have autism. A graduate of UC Berkeley, he is soon to receive his Masters in Special Education from National University in LA. Leslie Henriques, M.P.H, is the co-publisher of Ulysses Press and a graduate of UC Berkeley. She received her Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Lorna Wing, M.D., an internationally recognized medical authority, has been studying autism for over 30 years. Her work with autistic children in the 1970's redefined the classic profile of autism and helped create the concept of autistic spectrum disorders.
