The Internet Revolution in China has ballooned beyond belief since it started 20years ago.It has brought with it a barrage of capabilities that simplify-and complicate-our personal and professional lives.While thousands of netizens surf the net,send emails and buy goods and services online each day,others fall victim to hackers who tap into computer networks,steal identities and personal information and unleash viruses and worms.Nevertheless,the Internet keeps attracting more more users.The number of Chinese netizens reached 137 million at the end of 2006;;today it stands at about 162 million.What's next in the wonderful world of the Internet?The country is getting ready to deploy its Next-generation Internet technology,Known as CNGI,at the 2008 Beijing Olympics,where it will be used to broadcast sports events online and control Olympic venue facilities.
