Reafffirming its belief in Tibet as one of the jewels in its crown,the Chinese Government launched the highest rail route in the world,the Qinghai-Tibet Railway,less then a year ago.Perhaps even the government could not have predicted the number of positive repercussions theat would emerge from this development.More and more people are being exposed to the beauty and unipueness of Tibet,its landscape and architecture,as well as the customs and mores of its people,and one can properly gauge the impact of the railway line on this magnificent land.
