| This multicultural collection of 18 stories written between the 1840s and the 1980s explores an ancient relationship with fresh vision. In these stories, mothers and daughters describe their conflicts and consolations, their trusts and mistrusts, their loves and their hates. Competition for the love of men separates them, as betrayal brings them together.
