Every person who has ever made an investment does so for one or more of the above reasons. These reasons have existed from the beginning of time. It is both interesting and amusing to look up the word ml,est in a fifty-year-old dictionary or thesaurus. I found adages as ()ld- fashioned as \"to feather one s nest,\" admonitions such as \"t~) guard against,\" and definitions as enduring as \"save to fall back upon\" or \"prepare and provide for.\" You ll note that none of these phrases even hint that there s anything to be gained by keeping your money under the mattress or burying it in a pot in the backTard. Hidden money doesn t earn interest. Entombed money doesn t work for v~u. ,# ,,\" Investors hundreds of years ago knew that. The need f{)r investing has existed since the stone age. Only the tools, the materials, and the mechanisms have changed over the centuries. Money matters currently seem to come into focus for most women twice a year: December and April. In December you realize the fiscal and calendar year is drawing to a close. Before the new year, you might make a pass at trying to get your financial affairs in order.
