| The purpose of Special Veterinary Pathology is to provide the under-graduate veterinary student, who will already have a grounding in generalpathology, with a textbook comprehensive enough to meet every need inveterinary pathology. To broaden the scope further, tropical diseases havebeen included; thus, the book can be used worldwide. Topic organizationis within an anatomic context, and each body system is included. Specificdiseases and lesions are described both grossly and microscopically; theirpathogenesis is included. Physically, the book is of "standard" textbooksize, each chapter being well illustrated and provided with salient refer-ences. )k book such as this has been needed for some time. Each one of the contributors to Special Veterinary Pathology has gainedrecognition in his or her chosen area of expertise. Each has extensive teachingexperience and is thus finely tuned to the requirements of students. Inaddition, the authors are well known for their contribution to research,all making available their clinical skills in diagnostic and service activities.Such a broad base of related expertise will surely be felt by a student whochooses to use this text.
