The collec-tion, acquired over the past quarter century,fills to overflowing a 2,500-square-foot space. There are more than 200 dolls ranging insize from over two feet tall down to only twoinches tall. The fifty or so teddy bears andother animals range in age from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Many of the9dolls and animals sit on doll- and sample-sizefumiture, child-size toys, or fill a baby's cradle. Jackie Andrews has collected the work ofa wide variety of miniatures artisans andcraftsmen throughout the past twenty-fiveyears. She has compiled a unique record oftheir development and growth, from theirbeginnings as novice craftsmen to the perfec-tion they have now achieved in their chosenmediums. The miniatures collection contains almostfifty significant structures, ranging in type froma one-inch-scale church to a half-inch-scaledollhouse. The largest is a sixteen-foot-longsouthern plantation. Nestled between them arefifty smaller buildings of various types. Thereare over thirty-five decorated room boxes andtwenty free-standing displays such as domes,plus an uncounted array of individual items.
