TAILGATING DIEBENKORN
It s lime to leave T out of my work for five years，
remove the clock from the room. Charged daylight leers，
lances the throttled stratosphere， demanding the \"alas\" fears
inspire to drop off. A thick white-out deletes sighs: many careers
are shaken by this onslaught of omission. Atavistic as a chandclier
left aglow in the New Minimalism of interior design， an old chandelier，
old as the T ， T old， Io， the T must now go， crated and placed to the r
of the foam-chip-sealed late-C hing porcelain bowl in the basement near
the gilted oval mirror， a Victorian toad， and sepia photographs of dear
ones， wrapped carefully in tissue paper and locked in files tor fear
of further disintegration， their empty metal frames now clear
of persons in costumes， retrieved， hung bare in the severe
white， minimal L-room whcrc a presence sleeps in mere
flesh， while the raw-silk daylight calls \"over here.\"
