| Ann Darr has published six books of poetry. A native of Iowa, graduateof the University of Iowa, she wrote and performed radio scripts forNBC and ABC in New York City. As a pilot during WWII she flewwith the Women s Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) testing planes, towingtargets and flying mapping missions. Her honors include a DiscoveryAward from the New York Poetry Center, Fellowships from MacDowelland Yaddo Artists Colonies and a Bunting Fellowship from Radcliffe.She has recorded for the Library of Congress Contemporary PoetrySeries and for Watershed Tapes, High Dark, a selection of her poems.She now teaches at The American University in Washington, DC and atthe Writer s Center in Bethesda, MD. She has three grown daughters andfour grandchildren. |
