| The first edition of Finite Mathematics for Management Life, andSociul Sciences received many compliments from users for its clarity ofexposition, selection of topics, and the variety and organization of sig-nificant and interesting real-world applications. It is hoped that this newedition, reflecting the experience and recommendations from a largenumber of users (instructors and students), will prove even more effectivein the classroom. The prerequisites for the book still remain 11/2-2 yearsof high school algebra or its equivalent. However, because much of thismaterial is forgotten through lack of use, the first chapter includes a re-view of basic topics from intermediate algebra which can he treated ina systematic way or can be referred to as needed. In addition, a review ofgraphs and functions is given in Appendix A and can be used as desired. |
