Social Transformation: The Challenge to Christianity in America This is a book about tli~future. More specifically, it is the story of America s born-again Christian population as it approaches a crossroad.~ Futurists and social analysts are in agreement that this country has entered a period of radical social change. The very foundation upon which our culture has been based is being fundamentally altered. Because of the \"ripple effect\" of change--whereby even very small modifications of one part of society affect all other parts of society--the Christian population of this nation is being significantly affected by the social meta- morphosis that is underway. The purpose of this book is to evaluate how Christians are responding to the changes that have already started to reshape the con- tours of American society.
