| The new Private Pilot Manual is designed for pilot applicants who are training underFAR Part 141 in FAA approved schools. The manual and supplementary materialsalso meet the requirements of a home study course for pilot applicants who areseeking certification under FAR Part 61 and are not affiliated with an approvedschool.The Private Pilot Manual is an authoritative textbook reference which is flexible,comprehensive, and well illustrated for easier study and understanding. Although thismanual will produce good results when studied alone, the best results can be obtainedwhen it is studied as an integral part of the total learning system within which it wasdesigned. The textbook is the central component for academic study in the learningsystem. The Private Pilot Course contains several other complementary componentsfor study and review of essential material.1. Private Pilot Audiovisual Presentations review and reinforce the concepts presented in the manual. These motivating visual aids pre~nt essential subject areas in brilliant color and synchronized sound.2. The Private Pilot Workbook contains comprehensive exercises which cover the material presented in the audiovisual course and in the manual.
