THE FANTASY:
\"ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE\"
When we were first married， I noticed that my husband often
drank what I thought was a little too much. But l wasn t terribly
concerned. I was sure the situation would change. My love was
going to change it.
Someday， it would go something like this:
Living room， 6:30 P.M. My husband is having his fourth mar-
tini. I m fixing dinner in the kitchen， singing. All is merry.
\"Dinner s ready， sweetheart.\"
\"I ll have one more drink， dearest.\"
\"Fine. I ll keep everything warm.\"
An hour later， I come in to him， lovingly. \"Hungry yet?\"
\"Not quite. Just one more.\"
And I calmly go to the bar and pour all the liquor down the
[ drain. \"You don t need another drink. You have me.\"
i He watches in grateful adoration. \"Thanks， sweetie， for mak-
ing me see the light.\"
He takes his fresh martini and pours it down the drain， then
sweeps me into his arms and carries me to the bedroom， where
we make passionate love. He never touches alcohol again.
