FOREWORD ,4 JlH~A~ Decisions . . . decisions . . . how do you make them in a world that is changing so fast? What you deeide this morning can be obsolete, overruled or completely \"out of it\" by nightfall. We re all gasping for breath. We re not necessarily asking them to stop the world so we can get off. We d be happy if they would just slow the thing down so we could catch up. But we can t catch up. Incredible revolutions in science, government, education-social developments Jf all kinds-are set in motion and nothing (on this planet at least) can stop them. There s a revolution in religion too. People-young and old-are on the march. The church is being criti- cized as part of an oppressive establishment that cares 9nly about perpetuating itself, not meeting the needs of human beings. Inside the church, and out, the clamoring critics are ~ andid and-in many cases-correct. So what s to be done? Should believers in Christ- His church-admit God is dead and commit suicide on His grave? Not on your protest sign... There s still that little item called faith. Christians are people who have faith in Christ. It was Faith that caused Peter to tell Jesus that He was \"The Messiah, the Son of the living God.\" To which Christ replied, \"Upon this rock (your faith) I will build My ~ hurch; and all the powers of hell shall not prevail Lgainst it\" (see Matt. 16:15-18). Keeping the faith isn t going to take away the mind- 9oggling problems of the late twentieth century. Sometimes having faith increases them.) But Jesus
