| This book is one of a series in a unique publishing effort inwhich Youth Research Center, Inc., Minneapolis, Minne-sota, has joined with Thomas Nelson Inc., Camden, NewJersey. The books are based on the very real concerns,problems, aspirations, searchings and goals of young peopletoday as measured by the research center. Central to the series is the belief that we all have a corn-pelling need to turn to a core of faith for guidelines in cop-ing with the world in which we live. Each book deals with aspecific need or concern of young people viewed in relationto the Christian faith. By drawing upon the results of thesurveys, each author is helped to speak more directly to theconflicts, values and beliefs of today s young people. The significance of this series is enhanced, as well, by thescholarship and commitment of the authors.
