ROBERT G. PLANER is Vice President-Property Loss Control at Johnson & Higgins in New York City. He received his B.S. (1944) degree in civil engineering from Newark College of Engineering (now New Jersey Institute of Technology), and did further study there and at M.I.T. and Rutgers University. Prior to his employment at Johnson & Higgins, he was a partner at Graham Inspection Bureau from 1948 to 1968. Mr. Planer originated and headed the Fire Protection Technology program at Newark College of Engineering. fie is a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and a Certified Safety Pro- fessional. He is a nlember of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (former president of the New York Chapter) and a member of several Other professional societies.
