SOCRATES
SOCRATES had a good point. The problems Of relation-
ships between men and women have puzzled us for a very
long time. I m sure all of us have either seen or heard of beau-
tiful relationships that continually grow and expand without
becoming stale or empty. On the other hand， we have all
seen marriages or relationships that seemed outwardly per-
fect， but suddenly fell apart without any apparent reason.
One man， well-known for his research into the mind， re-
marked that he and his wife had a very good relationship，
but he did not exactly know why. What is it that makes one
relationship or marriage succeed and another fail /
In talking to， and reading about， people who have good re-
lationships， I have found that most of them acknowledged
that something greater than themselves had brought them to-
gether. They felt that the success o~ their relationship was no~
clue to the use of certain techniques supposedly guaranteed to
