| A fine arts graduate of the College of St. Catherine, in St. Paul, MN, Kinkead began her career as a painter of decorative finishes in 1984 after 2 years of training at The Day School and the Gale Laurance Studio in San Francisco. She founded her gallery, Faux Pas, in Minneapolis in 1985. It is one of only a few teaching studios in the Midwest. Kinkead has worked nationally on hundreds of projects, both residential and commercial, including several for three of the nation's top 100 architectural firms. Sharon Ross is the author of numerous books, as well as countless magazine and newspaper articles on the topics of interior design and home improvement. For many years she was Director of Editorial Projects for The Family Handyman magazine. She has been a contributor to Midwest Living, Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications, Woman's Day Special Publications, Mary Emmerling's Country Home, and other publications. She has also written for PBS-TV's Hometime. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. |
