| General Matthew Nelson Blue, Jr., was a World War II hero. His son, Colonel Matthew Nelson Blue III, distinguished himself in Korea. Now young Lieutenant Matthew Nelson Blue IV is in Vietnam--and he needs all the help his father and grandfather can give him. It s 1969, the height of the Vietnam War, and Lieutenant Matthew Nelson Blue IV is being held in a military prison in Saigon. He is charged with cowardice and desertion in the face of the enemy, a capital offense. But the Lieutenant is being framed by his superiors; he knows about a scandal so severe that the public outcry could bring the war to a halt. Rac- ing halfway across the world to the Lieu- tenant s aid are his father, a Colonel who served in Korea, and his grandfather, a retired General, a hero of World War II, and a confidant of presidents. The Colonel and the General have been estranged for years, but now they must join together to confront both Lieutenant Blue s court- martial and the Byzantine web of politics and self-interest that is Vietnam. It is a war unlike any either has fought. |
