This an- thology brings together some of these hard-to-find articles (including some extensively rewritten for this book), together with much new, never-before-published material. Since many of the chapters in this book were originally written as articles to stand alone, there is a degree of overlap of background material between some of them. We have carefully pruned this background explanatory material so that the emphasis is on particularly important and helpful information. This book is NOT a simplified version of Life Extension, a book which contains FAR more information than is contained in this volume. We intend this book as a supplement to our Life Extension and many specific references will be made to it. This book may also interest many people in life extension (and possibly Life Extension!) who might otherwise have been intimidated by the size of that work. By referring to Life Extension during the reading of this anthology, the reader can greatly enhance his or her understanding of this book.
