内容简介

于连是一个木匠的儿子，年轻英俊、精明能干，一直抱着飞黄腾达，进入上流社会的梦想。一个机会让于连在市长家当上了家庭教师，并和市长夫人产生了暖味关系。事情败露后，于连进入神学院，后来成为德·拉莫尔侯爵的秘书。不久便赢得了侯爵小姐的芳心。二人秘密结婚，于连也因此得到了骑士称号。然而，好景不长……于连最终被送上了断头台。
