Pregame rm-up Dr. J. Tyson Tildon wrote in the preface to his book The Anglo- St~con Agony*: \"It is the maximum audacity that any author should attempt to define a particular sociological posture of man.\" He went on to write that he hoped his recklessness would be buffered by the fact that his thoughts, suggestions, and statements were not final, but part of a continuing dynamic development of a larger knowledge. That, my friends, sums up my feelings about writing a book to be used as a guide to attempt to accomplish what may seem impossible. I know the value of such guidance because I received a lot of it from Dr. Tildon in my own tour to success. His help has been tan- tamount to having a real live angel looking over my shoulder and guiding me all the way. That a former narcotic cop, soldier of fortune, gardener, enter- tainer and writer could possibly know the secrets to success may seem ludicrous. But what you are about to read is based on expe- riences I ve had on my journey to the wonderful world of success. Along the way, I ll point out obstacles that you might avoid or de- tour around. Dr. Tildon taught me that all learning requires the awesome tran- sition from a state of not knowing to one of knowing. This book is offered as another bridge for such a crossing. I am not an old and wise man and I don t have years of higher education. In high school I just barely squeezed by. I am not brag- ging or complaining, merely stating a fact. ~Tildon, J. Tyson. The Anglo-Saxon Agony. Philadelphia, PA: Whitmore Publishing Co., 1972
