| Dear Reader,I hope you enjoy the rereleases of these Long, Tall Texanbooks. After That Burke Man was published, mywonderful editors at Silhouette Books sent me theoriginal painting that was on the cover. I have it, framed,on the wall beside my desk, and I still think it s one of themost beautiful ones I ve ever had. Todd Burke was a fun subject, because he, like many of my heroes, was notwhat he appeared to be on the surface. I do enjoy asurprise. I hope you do, too, if you haven t read this bookbefore.Regan s Pride was demanding and hard work, because ithad a dark subplot and some explosive emotional scenes. Some characters are hard to let go of after the book isfinished. Ted and Coreen reallv were.Emmett...ah, Emmett! If you don t know it by now, I lovekids. I only have one of my own, but I d have loved ahouseful. These three tigers of Emmett s were a hoot, evenfor me. James would come into the office from time totime to find out why I was splitting my sides laughing. Idon t know where these scenes come from, becausethey re a surprise to me even while I m writing them, butI enjoyed this book more than just about anything thatcame before it. By the way, if you remember ChristopherDeverell, Logan s brother from The Case of the MissingSecretary, and Emmett s cousin, I m working on his storyas I write this. It will be in my August book--Love With aLong, Tall Texan, available from Silhouette Books. Thanks so much for your support and kindness over the years. I really enjoy your letters--even if it does seem totake forever to get an answer from me!Love, |
